Catching a lot of catfish in the wintertime

Both blue catfish and channel catfish species can be caught year round and winter months are a great time to target big mature cats as they tend to school in their wintering holes along the river or lake beds. Using my GPS allows me to quickly find key areas to target prime locations the big cats are known to frequent. Anchoring on deep holes along the river bottom using a Carolina rig and the bait was fresh caught skip jack herring.
