19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [a]adultery, [b]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (NKJV Galatians 5:19-21)

States succeed or fail across all or some of these dimensions. But it is ac- cording to their performance—according to the levels of their effective deliv- ery of the most crucial political goods—that strong states may be distinguished from weak ones, and weak states from failed or collapsed states. (Robert I. Rosberg)

Helping people in America before extending aid abroad is essential for several reasons. Firstly, as citizens of this nation, we have a responsibility to prioritize the well-being of our fellow Americans. By addressing local issues such as poverty, homelessness, and access to education and healthcare, we can build a stronger, more unified society. Additionally, investing in our communities fosters a sense of empathy and compassion, encouraging others to join in and create a positive domino effect. The Bible also emphasizes the importance of taking care of one's own household first, as seen in 1 Timothy 5:8: "But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." By meeting local needs, we lay a foundation for more effective global outreach and solidarity.
