Using a velvet stitch adds dimension and texture to your piece…

You use regular embroidery thread.  Sewing over the same spot again and again.  When it’s finished you simple cut the threads open and let them bloom.  

Normally you’d use tone on tone to create depth, but I just couldn’t resist using these bright neons on the black fabric!

Where would you use velvet stitch embroidery?  I’m thinking sling bag…
