Why do horses "clack" at each other?

Check out this incredible interaction as Alvin the foal clacks his teeth together when confronted by his Stallion dad. When a horse clacks it means it's communicating that it doesn't want to get into any trouble. It clearly works in this instance as the two horses proceed to get along just fine.
