Festa Junina ❤️👩🏻🌾👨🏻🌾🧑🏻🌾
Celebrated in Brazil since at least the 17th century, the Festa Junina is the second largest celebration held by Brazilians.
Inserted in the context of the Festas Juninas, the Festa de São João takes place on the 23rd and 24th of June, to celebrate the birth of this Popular Saint, known as the Holy partyer.
The festa junina has very peculiar characteristics when it comes to typical food.

A festa junina tem características bem peculiares quando se trata de comida típica.
Sweet rice/ Arroz doce
Ingredients
1/2 cup rice / xic de arroz
1 tbsp sugar / c. sopa açúcar
1 cup water/ xic de água
800 ml milk/ leite
200g condensed milk/ leite condensado
1 cinnamon / canela
2 cloves / cravos
1 egg yolk/ gema
In a pan, add rice, water and sugar. Cook until the water dries up, add 300 ml milk, cook for more 5 min. Add 500ml milk, cinnamon, cloves and condensed milk. Cook for more 10 min. Add egg yolk, mix well and cook for more 2 minutes. Let cool.
Numa panela adicione o arroz, a água e o açúcar. Deixe cozinhar até a água secar. Adicione 300ml de leite e deixe cozinhar por mais 5 minutos. Adicione o restante do leite, a canela, o cravo e o leite condensado. Deixe cozinhar por mais 10 minutos. Adicione a gema e cozinhe por mais 2 minutos. Deixe esfriar.
Sirva com canela em pó.
Serve with cinnamon powder.
Sweet white corn hominy / Canjica ( Munguzá)
300g white corn hominy / canjica
500ml water / água
1 tbsp sugar/ c. sopa açúcar
1 L milk / leite
200g condensed milk/ leite condensado
1 cinnamon / canela
2 cloves / cravos
1 egg yolk/ gema
In a pressure cooker, add white corn hominy , water and sugar. Cook for 20 minutes. Add milk, cinnamon, cloves and condensed milk. Cook for more 5 minutes Add egg yolk, mix well and cook for more 2 minutes. Let cool.
Serve with peanut.
Cozinha a canjica numa panela de pressão com água e açúcar por 20 minutos. Adicione o leite, a canela, o cravo e o leite condensado e deixe cozinhar por 5 minutos. Adicione a gema e deixe cozinhar por 2 minutos. Deixe esfriar.
Sirva com amendoim.
