In Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Dune, this penchant for efficiency extends to their language, which is stripped to its barest essence. Perhaps the most memorable demonstration of their culture came in the form of a chant that is heard as a part of a ritualistic preparation for battle. It manifests as a droning symphony of raw, guttural vocalizations, stripped of all unnecessary flourishes.
