Atlanta officers arrests 3 suspects after a traffic stop for marijuana leads to more drugs and guns

On July 7, 2023, officers assigned to the Zone 3 Crime Suppression Unit stopped a group of males that entered a vehicle that smelled of marijuana. While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, they admitted to having marijuana in the car. All the occupants were detained, and the vehicle was searched.

During the search, officers recovered marijuana and multiple firearms. Two of the firearms had switches that made them fully automatic weapons.

• Glock 23C 40 with switch
• P80 9mm with switch
• Springfield XD 40
• CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1

Three suspects were arrested during the incident.

Ta’vorris Williams (07/2002) was arrested for Possession of Marijuana less than an Ounce, Possession of a Machine Gun (2 counts), and a warrant for False Imprisonment.

Darnell Ellison (04/2001) was arrested for Possession of a Machine Gun (2 counts).

Jonathan Dolly (9/2001) was arrested for False Representation to Police and a warrant for a Probation Violation.
