The game revolves around a scenario where one team of robbers aims to loot a bank while evading detection from the team of cops. Given the cops' superior combat capabilities, the robbers need to maintain a low profile, blending in with the crowd, and timing their moves perfectly to knock out employees, assume their identities and stealthily carry out their activities. The methods used by the robbers can range from sneaking and drilling to bombing or hacking, all aimed at accessing the bank's reserves.

There is a wide variety of 32 classes that players can choose from, each featuring unique abilities, weapons, and passive perks. The game also brings back all the weaponry from its predecessor and introduces new armaments, like rocket and grenade launchers, leading to a total of over 20 unique weapons.

Every aspect of the game has been revamped. This includes a smoother gunplay experience, vastly improved net code, a more intuitive user interface, and novel classes, alongside new gameplay aspects like destructible walls. The game's development placed significant emphasis on the first-person mode to counteract the potential stealth-based game imbalance that the third-person mode could bring. However, a third-person mode is still included as an optional server setting.

Additionally, the game incorporates a level system, unlockable cosmetics, and a level editor with integration into the Steam Workshop. This allows players to design their own maps or use maps created by the community. The game comes with five maps, three of which are brand new, while one is a polished and reworked map from the previous game. In the future, players can look forward to more official maps and custom map contests.
