A traditional military parade was held in the capital Paris on the occasion of France's 14 July National Day.
The street was closed to vehicle traffic for the military parade held every year on the famous Champs-Elysees Avenue in Paris as part of the National Day.
French President Emmanuel Macron, Macron's wife Brigitte Macron, Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, Minister of Defence Sebastien Lecornu and Minister of Interior Gerald Darmanin attended the ceremony and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the "guest of honour".
During the ceremony where the French National Anthem La Marseillaise was sung, Indian soldiers were also present at the parade and Rafale-type fighter jets flew over the capital.
During the military parade, some people booed Macron and chanted "Macron resign" slogans.
Within the scope of the holiday, fireworks will be organised this evening in many cities in the country.
