Drunk Driver Leads Trooper Over 100mph Chase! | St. Lucie County, Florida

On June 21, 2023, at approximately 4:07 a.m., while traveling north on Interstate 95, an officer observed a grey Dodge driving erratically. The vehicle veered off the road, swerved across lanes, and nearly collided with multiple vehicles. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop but the driver, identified as Joshua Leah Scott, fled at high speeds, reaching up to 107 mph. During the pursuit, the defendant collided with another vehicle. After the crash, the officer extracted the defendant and arrested him. Both the defendant and the other driver were transported to the hospital for evaluation. A search of the defendant's vehicle uncovered a bottle of pills prescribed to someone else. The defendant admitted to drinking prior to driving and claimed to have found the pills on the street. The defendant exhibited signs of intoxication, and a blood sample was taken for testing. The defendant faced charges of fleeing and eluding, DUI, and others.
