Types of Tongues Christian Need to Know | Acts 2:4-8

God speaking to the lost:
Acts 2:4 and 8 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?

God speaks to the body of Christ (God’s words are prophesies):
1 Corinthians 14:27 If anyone speaks in tongues, let there be two, or at the most three, and let one interpret.

• Notice this type of tongues edify the body and need an interpreter.

Men speaking to God:
1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

• Notice this type of tongues edify the one praying and cannot be interpret.
