Open Your Eye Ep83 with guests Thomas Hartle & Jack Lloyd

Section 56 and SAP patient advocate Thomas Hartle is joining us once again for an update with his lawyer Jack Lloyd

Thomas Hartle is a 54-year-old husband, father, and IT professional who has been dealing with stage 4 colon cancer since 2016. He was the first Canadian to receive a Section 56 exemption to receive psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy which helped him cope with debilitating anxiety about his future and that of his family. He also applied for and was granted access under Canada's recently added SAP or Special Access Program for psychedelic therapy after his section 56 expired 1 year later. Thomas has received substantial improvement in his wellbeing and is now an advocate for accessibility of this treatment for others. To attempt to accomplish change on a federal level, Thomas has retained Jack Lloyd from Cannabis & Psychedelic Law Group based in Toronto Ontario.

Jack Lloyd is a partner in Cannabis & Psychedelic Law Group in Toronto Ontario
Cannabis and Psychedelics Law Group LLP began as a collaboration between Paul Lewin and Jack Lloyd, two prominent Canadian lawyers in the realm of federal laws relating to controlled substances. As legalization and normalization of Cannabis and other controlled substances progressed, Paul and Jack were being asked by private individuals and small businesses to help navigate the turbulent waters of Canada’s emergent federal and provincial regulatory frameworks.
