Tennessee surgeon shot dead near Memphis

DailyKenn.com — Dr. Benjamin Mauck, 43, was fatally shot at Campbell Clinic Orthopedics in Collierville, Tennessee.

Larry Pickens, 29, has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the targeted attack on Dr.Mauck, reports say.

News source claim Pickens had been stalking staff members at the clinic for weeks. He had been laying in wait for hours for an opportunity to strike, reports say.

WREG Memphis cited Police Chief Dale Lane saying that Perkins was treated at the clinic a few hours before the incident.

Mauck was an orthopedic surgeon who worked at a children's hospital.
