The Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56mm F1 Precise Illuminated 34mm Tube Black Matte Hunting Gun Scope exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and feel. The clicks on the dials are affirmative and exactly what you would want and expect from a high-end scope.
The glass quality is truly fantastic, providing a clear and crisp view. One minor drawback of this scope is the smaller exit pupil at 35x magnification.
However, this is somewhat expected given the high price tag. Despite this, the overall performance of the scope makes it worth the investment. In my experience, this is by far the best rifle scope I have ever used on a precision rifle.
The inclusion of the Horus Tremor3 reticle is a game-changer for quick shot adjustment and spot-on bullet placement beyond 2,000 meters. I have even used this scope to shoot distances well beyond that with exceptional results.
It truly is a great scope that justifies its price. I previously had a Valdada IOR scope on my .308 rifle but switched to the Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56mm F1 on my 6mm Creedmore.
Ive had this scope for nearly a year now, and I absolutely love it. The clicks on the dials are solid and accurate, giving me confidence in making precise adjustments.
When I conducted box tests and ladders at 300 yards, the scope performed excellently. The clarity of the glass is impressive, just like the Valdada IOR.
The lens coatings on the Nightforce scope create a bright and vibrant image. However, they also make mirage more noticeable compared to the Valdada. This can be a personal preference, but I appreciate the ability to see mirage more clearly.
I primarily shoot with this scope up to 700 yards, and I have no trouble seeing marks on steel targets at that distance. However, on hot days, the mirage can overpower the image at high magnification.
This is not a fault of the scope but something to consider when working with high magnification. Finally, the crosshairs on this scope are well-designed and do not obstruct the view at high magnification.
They provide a clear reference point for accurate aiming.
