Actor James Beeks has been acquitted of federal charges related to the January 6th Capitol attack, as announced on Tuesday. Prosecutors had alleged that Beeks, a member of the Oath Keepers, attempted to enter the Senate chamber during the riot. They presented a photograph from the event, comparing Beeks' ear to a frame from one of his music videos on YouTube. However, Judge Amit Mehta was not convinced and cleared Beeks of all charges associated with January 6th after a bench trial.
Known by his stage name "James T Justis," Beeks is recognized for his portrayal of Judas in the production of "Jesus Christ Superstar."
