Sen. Johnson: It’s unfair for PGA to ‘bear the full burden’ of holding Saudi Arabia accountable

During a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing investigating the pending merger between Saudi-backed LIV Golf and the PGA Tour Tuesday, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) said it would be “grossly unfair” to expect the American golf league to bear the full burden of holding Saudi Arabia accountable for its role in the 9/11 terrorist attack and other human rights violations. “After all, anyone who drives a car or uses oil-based products has helped fill the coffers of the Saudi Public Investment Fund,” said Sen. Johnson.
