The Biden administration announced a new set of proposed measures Tuesday that would cut childcare costs for low-income households and certain working families. The new changes, stemming from an executive order signed by President Joe Biden in April, would cap childcare co-pays at no more than 7% of a family’s income and encourage states to waive copays for families at or below 150% of the federal poverty level.
