23LHDVD07-07 - Deborah Vails - Beware of the Witchcraft Spirit

Those who practice witchcraft use it to manipulate the wills of others. There are three words in the Scripture to describe the occult. They are divination, sorcery and witchcraft. We carry the spiritual authority to cast these spirits out. In Acts 16, Paul simply called out the spirit of divination and it came out of the damsel. The ultimate objective of sorcery is to lure people away from worshiping God using drugs, alcohol, suggestive dancing and charms. People in positions of authority can easily move over into the control arena. Examples include parents, teachers, employers, pastors, elected officials, etc. As Christians we must be careful not to take our natural authority too far. The real issue is giving our hearts completely over to the Lord so we can hear His voice, be obedient to Him, and allow Him to change those things in us that are not pleasing to Him. This requires us to give up the control that we didn’t even know we were operating in!
