I have to say that these Frontier ED X binoculars are worth every penny of the $350 they sell for. In fact, if these were priced at $600, I would still consider them to be a great purchase.
When I compared these binoculars to my alpha binoculars, I was impressed by their exceptional brightness, clarity, depth of field, and width of field.
Not only do these binoculars perform well, but they also look and feel nice. When you look through them, you almost feel like youre using binoculars that would normally cost three times as much.
One thing I noticed about the lenses is that they are clear up to about 70-80 percent of the edges, after which they soften. However, I didnt even notice this when looking through them, so it didnt affect my overall experience.
Additionally, the focus feels smooth, quick, and accurate. After six months of using these binoculars, my opinion remains the same, and I must say that the coatings on these binoculars are the best.
They effectively eliminate chromatic aberrations. In a direct comparison with the Meopta Meopro HDs, these Hawkes showed almost no reflections or light aberrations in the lenses, even with the morning sun shining into the objectives.
On the other hand, the Meopros produced horrible results, with the lenses literally lighting up around the outside 30-40 percent. This demonstrates that the quality of the glass in the Meopros is great, but the coatings are terrible.
Overall, these binoculars are of very high quality. The only thing that disappointed me is where they were made. I had initially thought they were made in England, but it turns out they are actually made in China.
Regardless, the performance and value of these binoculars make up for it.
