President Joe Biden’s pat on King Charles III’s back during a meeting at Buckingham Palace Monday lit up a heated debate over social media on whether the American leader breached royal palace protocol. While physical contact with a monarch is not an accepted practice in the United Kingdom, it is not prohibited. A royal source from Buckingham Palace told The Daily Beast, however, that King Charles was fine with the pat on the back.
