Inmate suspected of homicide escapes from a Pennsylvania jail using bed sheets

A search operation was underway on Saturday, led by local, state, and federal authorities, to locate an escaped inmate described as “very dangerous” who had fled from a jail in northwestern Pennsylvania.

The inmate, identified as Michael Burham, 34 years old, managed to escape from the Warren jail by utilizing bed sheets and climbing on exercise equipment to exit through a window, according to officials.

Burham, who had been held on charges including kidnapping, burglary, and others, with a bail set at $1 million, was also a suspect in a homicide investigation, as stated by the Warren police. Lt. Col.

George Bivens of the Pennsylvania State Police addressed a news conference on Saturday, mentioning that law enforcement believed Burham was still in the Warren area, the Associated Press reports.
