This Avian-X HDR Jake Turkey decoy has been a great investment for me, as I have had it for a few years now and it has consistently delivered great results during my hunts.
One of the things I love about this decoy is how realistic it looks. The attention to detail in the design is impressive and it truly resembles a live turkey.
It was especially effective during a youth hunt when I set it up in the breeding position with a hen decoy.
A tom turkey came in and aggressively attacked the decoy, completely ignoring the young hunter in the ground blind who was able to take a successful shot.
I would highly recommend placing this decoy over the breeding hen with both facing in the direction of the shot. This positioning ensures that the tom will be facing away from you when it approaches, increasing your chances of a successful hunt.
The interchangeable heads that come with this decoy are also a great feature. They allow you to adapt to the behavior of the turkeys and change the decoys appearance accordingly.
One minor concern I have is regarding the flocking on the back of the decoy. While it seems sturdy at the moment, only time will tell if it holds up well in the long run.
I must admit that I wouldnt recommend this decoy to anyone hunting close to me or in the same state, as I dont want the competition! (haha)

Considering its price, this Avian-X HDR Jake Turkey decoy is definitely worth the money.
It feels sturdy and appears to be very lifelike, which is essential in fooling turkeys during hunts.
I am looking forward to using it soon, and while I know it might be a bit cumbersome to carry with the shoulder bag, it will be worth it for the success it brings.
