These bodyboards are lightweight and easy to carry, making them perfect for kids as young as 6. They are great for taking to the beach and the kids have no trouble carrying them around, even in windy conditions.
We have been using these bodyboards a lot, almost daily, and after 2 months of heavy use, they are beginning to show some wear and tear. However, there are no tears or major damage, just some lines that are starting to look a bit weak and strained.
Despite this, they still work very well and continue to be great boards for the kids. While these bodyboards are durable and have held up well considering the amount of use they have seen, I dont think they will last much longer than a couple more months.
Overall, they are better than some other bodyboards we have tried. I gave these bodyboards an overall rating of 4 stars because they are not made from recycled materials.
If boards like these are meant to be "disposable" and replaced frequently, I believe more effort should be made to help the environment by using recycled materials.
Comparing it to the 7 other bodyboards I tried over the summer, this one didnt hold up as well as some others in the same price range. Towards the end of the summer, the board started to pull away from the styrofoam on the inside, especially on the sides.
This was disappointing and not something I anticipated. Its worth noting that we did use these bodyboards a lot, so its not surprising that some wear and tear occurred.
Out of the 7 bodyboards I tried at this price point, only 3 would last for future summers. This seems to be a common issue with this style of bodyboard.
Despite the peeling and durability issues, I must say that these bodyboards did last the entire summer until the last few weeks, even with heavy use. If you plan to use them frequently, just keep in mind that they may not last as long as some other options.
Overall, I think these bodyboards are still very good and provide a lot of fun for the kids. However, if you are looking for a bodyboard that will last multiple seasons or prioritize eco-friendly materials, you may want to consider other options.
