KING CAKE - SCENE 22 - FIRST POST KATRINA MARDI GRAS

In 2006, six months to the day since New Orleans had been wiped out by Hurricane Katrina, the city of New Orleans struggled to take that first step of putting on the Mardi Gras. The people of New Orleans inspired the world by showing all that the city of New Orleans was going to live. Though it was a smaller Mardi Gras, mainly for the locals, it was an important first step in standing back up on her feet.
