I'll Take you - The Story of Kimbrady Carriker
For what ever reason Wikipedia doesn't mention the killers name of skin color. By default when I see this I assume the killer is black or maybe trans, in this case we got both. Mass shooting in Philly is unfortunately a common thing but news underreports on crimes since only a small percentage is by white men.
2023 Kingsessing shooting
Part of mass shootings in the United States in July 2023
Location Kingsessing, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.
Date July 3, 2023
On July 3, 2023, a shooting spree occurred in the Kingsessing neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Five people were killed and at least two people were injured. The police apprehended the shooter without incident.
Shooting
The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. EDT. The accused, wearing body armor, armed with an AR-15–style rifle and a pistol, opened fire in southwest Kingsessing, firing randomly.[4] The accused shot randomly at people and occupied cars, killing five and wounding two others. Police officers were flagged down and rendered first aid to victims until hearing more gunshots. The accused was then taken into custody.
At some point during the shooting, a second person returned fire in the direction of the shooter. This person is also in custody.
Victims
Five people were killed and two were wounded. Those killed were Lashyd Merritt, 20; Dymir Stanton, 29; Ralph Moralis, 59, Dajuan Brown, 15, and Joseph Wamah, Jr., 31.
Accused
The accused was identified as a 40-year-old man. He has been charged with 11 counts, including five counts of murder, and was denied bail. It was reported that he made violent and disturbing posts on social media. According to two law enforcement officers, the accused told police that he carried out the incident to "clean up the neighborhood".
Investigation
Both the AR-15–style rifle and 9mm handgun in the possession of the accused were privately made firearms, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. The firearms did not have any markings and are not traceable, they added.
The city of Philadelphia on July 5 filed a lawsuit against two ghost gun suppliers, Polymer80 and JSD Supply, which they said are among the largest suppliers of untraceable firearms in the city.
Reactions
Philadelphia mayor Jim Kenney expressed outrage over the shooting, saying “This country needs to reexamine its conscience and find out how to get guns out of dangerous people’s hands.”
