The Titanic remains the largest cruise ship from the 1900s, but Royal Caribbean has introduced the largest cruise ship of the 20th century, called the Icon of the Seas. Launched on December 9th, 2022, it is set to become the world's biggest completed cruise ship. Built at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, it recently undertook sea trials and is expected to be delivered in October this year.

The Icon of the Seas is an enormous ship, measuring 365 meters (1,200 feet) in length and weighing approximately 250,800 tonnes. It stands out not only for its size but also for its eco-friendliness. It will be the first ship to run on liquified natural gas and features a waste heat recovery system that converts waste into three megawatts of energy.

With 20 decks and eight neighborhoods, including the world's largest waterpark at sea, the ship can accommodate around 7,600 passengers and has 2,805 staterooms. By 2024, it is expected to embark on its first seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean vacations.
