Ronnie Coleman is a retired American professional bodybuilder. He is best known for winning the Mr. Olympia title for eight years in a row from 1998 to 2005. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time.
Coleman was born on May 13, 1964, in Monroe, Louisiana. He began lifting weights at the age of 15 and later earned a track and field scholarship to Grambling State University, where he competed in the shot put and discus throw. After graduating with a degree in accounting, he worked as a police officer in Arlington, Texas while continuing to train in bodybuilding.
Coleman first competed in bodybuilding in 1990 and quickly rose to prominence in the sport. He won his first Mr. Olympia title in 1998 and went on to defend his title for seven more years, becoming the first bodybuilder to win the Mr. Olympia title eight times.
In addition to his Mr. Olympia titles, Coleman also won the Arnold Classic bodybuilding competition four times and the Australian Grand Prix twice. He retired from professional bodybuilding in 2007.
After retiring from competition, Coleman became a successful business owner and motivational speaker. He has also made numerous appearances in bodybuilding documentaries and television shows.
