Here are some notable fines that Pfizer has had to pay:

😱 In 2004, Pfizer agreed to pay $430 million to settle a lawsuit brought by the Department of Justice (DOJ) over illegal marketing practices for its drug Neurontin.

😱 In 2009, Pfizer paid $2.3 billion to settle civil and criminal charges related to the off-label promotion of several drugs, including Bextra, Geodon, Zyvox, and Lyrica. This settlement marked the largest healthcare fraud settlement in DOJ history at that time.

😱 In 2012, Pfizer settled a lawsuit for $164 million over allegations that Wyeth, a company it acquired in 2009, engaged in illegal off-label marketing of its drug Protonix.

😱 In 2013, Pfizer agreed to pay $55 million to settle allegations that it violated the False Claims Act by misrepresenting the safety and efficacy of its kidney transplant drug Rapamune.

😱 In 2016, Pfizer settled with the DOJ for $784.6 million over allegations that its subsidiary, Wyeth, underpaid drug rebates owed to Medicaid for Protonix.
