“Let's go out with a bang,” declares the newly released trailer for the fourth season of Sex Education, which has now been confirmed to be the shows last. Released via the the official Netflix YouTube channel, Sex Education will wrap up the misadventures of Asa Butterfield’s Otis Milburn who, as the footage reveals, spends a lot of his free time thinking about sex. Check out the trailer for the fourth and final season of Sex Education below.
"Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier - their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Otis is nervous about setting up his new clinic, whilst Eric is praying they won’t be losers again,” the official synopsis for Sex Education season four begins. "But Cavendish is a culture shock for all the Moordale students - they thought they were progressive but this new college is another level. There’s daily yoga in the communal garden, a strong sustainability vibe and a group of kids who are popular for being… kind?!"

As well as offering our first look at Sex Education season four, and revealing that it will be the Netflix series’ last ride, it has also now been confirmed that Sex Education will return for its fourth and final season on September 21.
Starring an ensemble cast that includes Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Alistair Petrie, Mimi Keene, and Aimee Lou Wood, Sex Education has been praised by critics since it began back in 2019, and no doubt many will be sad to see the show reach its climax.
Sex Education Creator Laurie Nunn Thanks the Fans
Sex Education creator and lead writer Laurie Nunn has released a statement following the revelation that the fourth season will be the last, thanking fans and calling the ending “bittersweet.” Though she does also assure fans that the show is ending on its own terms.

"A lot has happened since our first writers' room in 2017, when we spent a month in a cramped office above a sex shop, talking about what it felt like to go through puberty. The painful awkwardness, first crushes and big, big feelings," Nunn said in her statement. "We wanted to make a show that would answer some of the questions we all used to have about love, sex, friendship and our bodies. Something that would have helped our inner teenagers feel a little less alone. It's been overwhelming seeing how the show has connected with people around the world and we hope it's made some of you feel a little less alone too."
She continues saying, "Writing this feels bittersweet, as we've decided the fourth season will also be the final installment of our show. This was not an easy decision to make, but as the themes and stories of the new season crystallized, it became clear that this was the right time to graduate. Goodbyes are the worst, but let's celebrate all the good times we've had."

So, once again, the fourth and final season Sex Education will debut on Netflix on September 21, 2023.
