To say that Martin Scorsese’s new film, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” has been highly anticipated is an understatement. Before we even saw one frame from the film, there were numerous reports about the production of the film, including the massive budget. Plus, this is a film directed by Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Obviously, people are going to be excited. Now, after a successful Cannes debut, many people are putting ‘Flower Moon’ up there as one of the early Oscars front runners.

As seen in the new trailer for “Killers of the Flower Moon,” the film follows the story of the Osage Nation, as the Native American tribe becomes the center of attention as they discover oil on their land. However, as you might expect, this draws the interest of white people, as they infiltrate the land and attempt to manipulate the Osage people and steal their money. And things get really complicated when a string of murders happens on Osage land.

The cast for the film includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” debuts in select theaters on October 6 before opening wide on October 20. You can watch the new trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:

At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal.
