Why Alternative Media Must Inspire Solutions, Not Fear

Founder of The Light Paper, Darren Nesbit: "We want people to be informed but also be motivated, be positive and make the best of their lives, etc, etc. A third of the paper, I suppose, is given over to solutions. Whether that's opinions and ideas about alternative systems or different ways of doing things, whether it's education, school, health, etc, etc, and also reporting on people that are actually doing it. So, you know, food co-ops and pharmacies, obviously World Council Health, etc etc. The things that are going on that just offer an alternative."

"It's a race against time. And it looks to me that there's so much going on, there's so many people now going, 'Right, let's just get on with it, let's build the alternative,' as it were, we don't need to raise an army. We don't need to form political party. [...] Mess with the media, we'll do alternative media."
