Indreshwar Mahadev Temple Courtyard or simply "Panauti Temple" is the most famous temple courtyard full of sculptor between the Roshi and Punyamati rivers. Regarded as one of the tallest pagoda-style temples in Nepal, is Topped by a three-storey pagoda roof which is a magnificent piece of Newari architecture.

Panauti is a historical city in Nepal, originally it was a small state given by King Bhupatindra Malla as a dowry to his sister. Panauti, consists of a variety of Buddhist and Hindu religious monuments, and is considered to be one of the area's most important medieval sites. It is also considered as the most artistic town in Nepal after Kathmandu Valley. In Panauti there are more than 40 temples dedicated to various deities spread around the small one-kilometer town.

Opposite the Indreshwar Temple there lies a large rectangular Unmatta Bhairab Temple. The temple consists of the three statues staring out of the upper windows in the two-storey house. It is the provocative statue of the fearsome Bhairab in his “Unmatta” form or aroused form in which he is a red-bodied demon.
