Independence Day fireworks and the first supermoon of the year shared the night sky in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Monday, July 3.

Footage recorded by Ana-Maria shows the Milwaukee lakefront fireworks alongside the moon.

Local media reported that thousands came to view the fireworks on the eve of Independence Day.

A supermoon occurs when the moon is full while its orbit is the closest to Earth, making the moon look bigger than a standard full moon. The first supermoon of 2023 reached its peak on the morning of July 3, according to NASA.
