According to Islamic tradition, the first murder in the history of humanity is mentioned in the Qur'an and is the story of Cain (Qabil) and Abel (Habil). The account is found in Surah Al-Ma'idah (Chapter 5), verses 27-31.

According to the Islamic narrative, Adam and Eve had two sons, Cain and Abel. They were instructed by Allah to offer sacrifices, with Abel offering a sheep in obedience to Allah's command, and Cain offering crops from his land. However, Allah accepted Abel's sacrifice and rejected Cain's. This caused jealousy and anger to grow in Cain's heart towards his brother.

In the Qur'an, it is mentioned that Allah sent a raven to show Cain how to bury his brother's body after he killed him, as Cain did not know what to do with the lifeless body. This indicates that Cain committed the act of murder, taking the life of his brother Abel out of envy and anger.

The story of Cain and Abel serves as a reminder of the grave consequences of envy, anger, and the prohibition of taking another person's life. It highlights the importance of righteousness, obedience to Allah, and the avoidance of destructive emotions that can lead to such heinous acts
