The Sales Process That Will Make It Easy To Close Clients
As I sat down with the charismatic Karis Prado, a real estate entrepreneur and master of communication, I couldn't help but feel a wave of excitement. Karis, who leads a team of 40 virtual assistants and has built successful investing businesses, had agreed to share her insights on the art of effective communication in the realm of real estate. Little did I know that our conversation would be a delightful journey into the psychology of sales and the transformative power of asking the right questions.
Karis, with her passion for sales and psychology, was quick to dive into the world of SPIN selling. She revealed that SPIN stands for Situation, Problem, Implication, and Need Payoff—a method that delves into understanding clients' pain points and guiding them towards their own solutions. With lively metaphors and anecdotes, Karis painted a vivid picture of how SPIN selling helps us unlock the minds of potential clients, addressing their needs and ultimately leading to closed deals.
The magic of SPIN selling lies in asking the right questions, and Karis was a master of this art. She shared her approach of questioning the potential outcomes of staying in a dead-end job—a path that leads to unhappiness, a pay cap, and limited growth opportunities. Karis encouraged individuals to challenge their current actions, habits, and thoughts, reminding them that change is the key to achieving different outcomes.
When met with resistance or closed-mindedness, Karis revealed her secret weapon: a powerful question that challenges the status quo. Drawing inspiration from Albert Einstein's definition of insanity, she asked, "What happens if you continue to do the same things you've been doing every single day?" This thought-provoking query compels individuals to evaluate their current focus and compare it to their desired goals, igniting a spark of motivation to pursue change.
Curious about Karis's approach during sales calls, I inquired whether she always positioned herself as a therapist. She responded with insightful wisdom, explaining how she adapts her role based on the situation. Initially, she assumes the therapist-like role to understand the person's challenges and concerns. However, as the conversation progresses, she gracefully transitions into a guide, serving as a knowledgeable companion on their journey. Karis's reference to the "Building a Story Brand" concept of the hero and the guide highlighted the importance of being a supportive figure who empowers clients to find their own solutions.
Karis emphasized the importance of surrounding oneself with the right people, sharing her own experiences of manifesting like-minded friends and attending networking events. She expressed the transformative power of vocalizing one's aspirations and attracting individuals who align with those goals. By expanding our circle to include ambitious and supportive individuals, we enhance our chances of success and personal growth.
Our conversation took an intriguing turn as we discussed the intersection of sales and psychology in everyday situations. Karis passionately emphasized the value of intentional communication, even in seemingly mundane encounters. She regaled me with a story of her graceful approach in a coffee shop, where she politely requested adjustments to her drink, rather than complaining. This simple act of asking for help, rather than venting frustration, often leads to positive outcomes—a testament to the power of psychology in our daily interactions.
As our conversation drew to a close, Karis shared her vision of scaling her virtual assistant business and building a physical call center in another country. She aimed to expand her team to include 100 virtual assistants, transforming her enterprise into a full-fledged call center within the next year or two. Karis's dedication to growth and her commitment to providing comprehensive support to clients were evident as she painted a picture of her ambitious future.
