Cities across the country are ditching fireworks and opting for a more environmentally friendly patriotic celebration with a drone light show.

Both Salt Lake City, Utah, and Boulder, Colorado, will be celebrating the 4th of July with its first drone show. Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall said drones are a “safe and sustainable alternative to fireworks.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced an expansion to the number of daily asylum appointments available to migrants seeking admission through one of several southwest border ports of entry. The increase will raise the daily total of migrant admissions through the application from 1,250 per day to 1,450. According to CBP’s announcement on June 30, the number represents a nearly 50 percent increase from the daily total appointments available from May 12, when CBP officers began processing 1,000 appointments daily.

Gov. Ron DeSantis discussed parental rights, education, inappropriate books in schools and some of his 2024 presidential plans during a conference with Moms for Liberty Friday.

“2024 is the time to put up or shut up. No more excuses about why we can’t win against the left,” DeSantis said.
