Tornado slams Alberta on Canada Day

A powerful tornado whipped through central Alberta on Saturday (July 1), destroying homes and uprooting trees in rural parts of the province. Local news reports, citing government officials, said the tornado passed between Didsbury and Carstairs and struck at least 12 homes. No fatalities were reported.
