Wheat Harvest 1996 / A brand new combine & life challenges

1996 began with a brand new combine - Case IH 2166.

Before leaving home, I hadn’t felt the greatest. When we made our way to Hutchinson, I decided it was time to find Out what was going on.

I found out I was pregnant.

The summer proceeded as normal. Shortly after arriving to Jordan, Montana, however, I miscarried.

This is where becoming a part of a community becomes a true blessing. Our local friends and PA took amazing care of me and my family. I left Jordan a different person that summer - in more ways than one.

We also left with a brand new “pink puppy” (according to Taylor) whom we ended up naming Jordan. Jordan was a very important part of our family for 14 years.

We visited the Montana Freeman’s compound with our friend, Sheriff Charles.

We made it to Ingomar for supper with the Murnion family. I remember it nearly didn’t happen because Jim didn’t think he had time to go. I’m pretty sure he never regretted taking the time as it would have been our last adventure with Charley.
