Violent Protest Spread Across France Over Police Shooting Of Teenager

Protesters launched fireworks at police, set cars ablaze and torched public buildings in the suburbs around Paris and in towns across France. In Mons-en-Barœul, northern France, the town hall was set on fire and the mayor said parts of it had been 'totally destroyed'. The president, Emmanuel Macron, held a crisis meeting to discuss the unrest which led to the arrest of at least 150 people overnight. 29 June 2023
