› North Carolina State Attorney General Josh Stein is the named defendant in Planned Parenthood v. Stein, the lawsuit brought to overturn North Carolina's new law banning abortion after 12 weeks. Stein is also running for Governor of North Carolina in the 2024 election. His recent public announcement as to his decision not to defend the duly enacted law passed by the North Carolina legislature presents an important question about the duties of the office of the State Attorney General, Stein's loyalties to the profession and obligations to his client, and whether his political ambitions have reached an inflection point in the simmering potential for a conflict of interest between the two roles.

› As first reported by Sports Illustrated, the NCAA released a memo yesterday advising member institutions through a series of FAQ's of member obligations under the NIL rules. Of particular note is the NCAA's clear position that state law is inferior to NCAA policy. Norm and Mike discuss.

› The question presented to the Supreme Court of the United States in Harper v. Moore was whether a state's judicial branch may nullify federal elections regulations through judicially created rules of its own. SCOTUS says 'nope.' Norm and Mike discuss.
