Giant Killer

At just 4 feet 9 inches Richard J Flaherty was a giant of a soldier. He was determined to join the army despite being too short. Once in the army he was mercilessly bullied and called names such as Private Mighty Mouse. But despite all the setbacks he was a tough recruit and eventually won the respect of the other men. Exceptionally brave and tough he excelled in the jungles of Vietnam, going behind enemy lines to save men that were trapped and isolated. Serving in many theaters of war, he ended up homeless when he met David Yuzuk, a Miami police officer who put the Giant Killer's life story onto paper.
