Study Of The Book Of Nehemiah - Rebuilding The Broken Walls & Lives Of The Captivity Returnees By Faith! | Neh. 7:8-73
• Neh. 7:63-65 In total about 50,000 people returned from captivity as first returnees and numbered by genealogy. Among them are persons who cannot prove that their family and offspring belong to Israel (Neh_7:64). Mixing with the nations is the cause of them losing the certainty of their nationality. In the same way, dealing with the world today can cause believers to become insecure about their salvation. Maybe they still say it themselves, but for others there is no evidence of it anymore, because they have identified so much with the world. The result is also that few are interested in taking their place among the children of God who gather around Christ as their center. ‘Gatekeepers’ have a responsibility to ask for proof that people are what they say they are. If there is uncertainty about salvation, either that one doubts it or that others doubt it because of their relationship with the world, they must be considered “unclean [and excluded] from the priesthood” (Neh_7:64). “They should not eat from the most holy things” (Neh_7:65). For us this means that such persons cannot participate in the Lord's Supper. All uncertainty comes to an end when the Lord Jesus comes. In Him the light – “Urim” means “lights” – and the perfection – “Thummim” means “perfection” – of God are present (Neh_7:65)

• Neh. 7:70-72 The heads of each family as well as Zerubbabel, the Governor at the time of the first return gave to the work of God liberally. Their donations consisted principally in garments. In the East, a present of garments, or of any article of use, is seen as a big deal based on the sentiments and customs of the society at that time. The chief fathers gave 20,000 drams or $1 million in gold. Besides this they gave 2,200 pounds of silver. With 100 shekels to each pound, worth $2.50 each, this would amount to $550,000. The Governor gave 1,000 drams (an eighth of an ounce) or $50,000 in gold (at $50 per dram), besides 50 gold basons and 530 garments for priests. The people gave 20,000 drams or $1 million in gold, and 2,000 pounds of silver ($500,000; note, Neh_7:71). Besides this they gave 67 garments for the priests. May we receive the grace for liberality in Jesus' name.

• Neh. 7:73 The seventh month has come. In that month three feasts are to be held. The day itself is a day of rest. Thus, the feasts of the seventh month begin with a day of rest, a day of reflection. That is always the start of something new. The starting signal is given by the trumpet, which is an image of the Word of God. When God’s Word is heard and entered into hearts and consciences, it humbles them, ceases their own efforts, and comes to rest. From a spiritual point of view it will be a full moon for Israel when the church is raptured. The light that it will pass on again comes from God. God will deliver His people from their enemies (Psa_81:4).

Personal Supplication
Father, in the name of Jesus I receive the grace to enter into Your rest and cease from 'my own' labor.
Heb 9-11 NLT
9 So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God.
10 For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
11 So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God, as the people of Israel did, we will fall.

Daily Covenant Favor Declaration
I decree in the name of Jesus, from this moment forward, I see myself the way God sees me. I am highly favoured of the Lord. I am crowned with glory and honour. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
I am reigning as a king in life through the one man Jesus Christ

JESUS IS LORD!
