How To Clean Crayfish And Freeze Tails (Western Rock Lobster)

How to separate the tail from the head and freeze the tails quickly and easily ready for months of storage to be consumed at a later date!

This method is for RAW, freshly caught Crayfish, for those like myself, who prefer to cook the Crayfish immediately prior to consumption i.e. barbecued fresh and not boiled and then frozen.

This specific species is the Western Rock Lobster, commonly referred to as Crayfish. Found along the mid-coastal waters of Western Australia.

Please remember to put your catch 'to sleep' on a bed of ice as soon as possible and handle it in a humane manner. It's the least we can do to respect our catch and be grateful for the opportunity to enjoy such beautiful seafood in our diets!
