Facing Old Stair Risers with Textured Wallpaper

http://UltimatePaperMache.com No, not really paper mache, but I did use some Elmer's Art Paste. I didn't realize how bad the stairs looked until I pulled off the carpet. Quite a shock! I think this wallpaper will make it look better, especially after it's all painted and the new stair treads are installed. As you might have seen in the photos, the paper I installed last year has some dings and scratches, so this is not damage-proof by any means. But anything is better than the way it looks now, right?

Here's the instructions for making the stair tread gauge: http://www.thissortaoldlife.com/2012/11/21/diy-your-own-stair-tread-gauge/

This is the textured wallpaper that I got last year: http://goo.gl/cvnYF0
I bought two rolls, and had one left over.

And this is the Elmers Art Paste I mentioned: http://goo.gl/B12uDg
It makes a gallon of paste, so I didn't use all of it.
