Slip Bobber Fishing with Live Minnows For Deep Fall / Winter Crappie

Crappie are transitioning into their winter locations on natural lakes and reservoir systems during the months of October, November, and December. The crappie in natural lakes will school up on the edge of the wintering basins (deepest areas in the lake) this time of year feeding on insect larva and any baitfish they can catch. Crappie on reservoir systems, specifically systems with standing timber, can be found on the deeper drop offs near creeks channels suspended against the timber. This bobber fishing tactic work very well in fall and winter locations when crappie are deep.
