The Vortex Optics Strike Eagle First Focal Plane Riflescope is a game changer for anyone who is looking for a budget-friendly scope that delivers outstanding performance.
I had a bad experience with a budget scope before, but the Strike Eagle proved to be a vast improvement. It held my shots much better than my previous scope, which helped me to make very accurate shots while zeroing in.
The clarity of the Strike Eagle is beyond what I expected. The pictures I took at 50 yards were clear and precise.
After zeroing in, I was able to get a final 100 yard zero that was roughly 1 1/2 inches low for my ammunition, which was M118LR, 7.62x51/308 Winchester.
I compared the Strike Eagle with Leopold and Nightforce and found that the quality of the three brands was similar. However, what sets Vortex apart is the lower price point and lifetime warranty that they offer.
The Strike Eagle has excellent turrets, with elevation and windage clicks that are tight, not sloppy.
The Parallax, Illume FFP Etched Glass Reticle, Zero Stop, Locking Turrets, and Throw Leaver and Sun Shade are exceptional features that make this scope stand out.
While its not the same as the Top of the Line Vertex Razor HD Gen II, Nightforce ATACR, or Schmidt & Bender PMII, it is just as good as some midline scopes.
I have been using a Burris XTR II for the past 4 years, and the Strike Eagle is just about as good in every department, if not better in some. Overall, the Strike Eagle is definitely worth the $699 I paid for it.
The price-to-performance ratio is excellent, making it as good as any mid to low high-end scope on the market today. I am very pleased with my purchase and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable scope that delivers great results.
