Wild Horses and Beautiful Mountains , One Hour Drive From Las Vegas , Nevada #shorts

Mt Charleston is about an hour drive from Las Vegas , Nevada . It is a great getaway from the city hustle and the Las Vegas Strip . Mount Charleston has lots of hiking trails to chose from for all levels of skill . There is even the Resort at Mount Charleston if you want to stay a night or two with its 3 story resort and restaurant . They even do wedding there . I go here to do hiking in the Spring , Summer , and Fall till the snow comes in . I love the fresh air and the time to clear my head .

One of my favorite hikes is the Bristlecone Loop Trail . I start at Lower Bristlecone and end at Upper Bristlecone by the ski area . I then have to walk down to my car at the other parking lot . The trail and the walk back to my car is approximately 9 miles . The trail is named after some of the oldest trees in the world , the bristlecone pines . They almost look like standing weird petrified trees , but they are alive . They get really twisted looking . When you explore Nevada , you will see these in many places like Lake Tahoe . Nevada tourism is full of unusual things to see and do other than just gambling your hard earned money away .

There are two parts to the park , Lee Canyon and Mt Charleston . This trail is on the Lee Canyon side . You can also see lots of wildlife to include wild horses and rare butterflies . Chipmunks are running around also and predators like coyotes and mountain lions are here to , but rarely seen . Of course you will hear birds singing and some streams especially after the snow starts melting . We even have a couple waterfalls you can hike to . Thanks for watching and enjoy with your friends .
