On Nov 5 2006, Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death following the installation of a puppet regime in Iraq as a result of the U.S. Invasion and forced regime change of Iraq.

The Kangaroo court was illegitimate according to international law and the U.S. resisted all attempts to transfer Saddam Hussein to the ICC where he would have faced a legitimate trial.
