The Environmental effects of River Nyamwamba are more lethal to Kasese Communities
The valley is the bed for river Nyamwamba, a major water source for major communities in the low land areas of Kasese and the chief water supply that feeds into the historic Mubuki irrigation scheme.
Kasese District experiences heavy rains in the Rwenzori Mountains in the months of April, May, September and October every year and thereafter, some disastrous floods stream in the low lands through the incised gorges, valleys and the vast Nyamwamba valley.
