This video is about Sunnyside Arizona, a ghost town near the Arizona/Mexico border.

In part 01 we walk through the remaining buildings.

Sunnyside Arizona was established by Samuel Donnelly in 1895. In was a communal/collective religious community that was supported by mining from the nearby Lonestar mine.

By 1903, all but one man had left the town.

In 1912, the town was revived as a ranching community and had a post office from 1914 to 1934, with the last resident leaving in 1941. The town remained empty until the 1960s when two descendants of the original group moved back and stayed until their deaths in the 1980s.

Out of respect, we asked for and received permission to visit, although the owner does not require it (at the moment). There is a guest book for everyone to sign. Please be respectful so that access isn't removed in the future.

Like the old saying goes "take nothing but photographs, leave nothing but footprints".
